RASAC Power Rating Competition

RASAC power ratings are based on a uniform power rating formula for all competitions (e.g. Chess, Table Tennis), which is a function of strength of opponents.  So the best competitor in each event is roughly as good in that event as any other event leader.

RASAC points are based on placement in the individual sports standings, with a minimum of one point and a maximum of 10 points for competitions in which there are less than ten competitors.  Total RASAC points can be accumulated in up to ten different sports/competitions.

For 2005, the only power-rated competition has been in Table Tennis, with all of the activity so far coming in the RASAC Summer 2005 Table Tennis Tournament which took place at the Bel Air Recreational Center on August 27th.  In that competition, Mike Early defeated Joe Lacetera in the final by scores of 21-14 and 21-19.  Because the Table Tennis tournaments are of the double elimination variety, both Early and Lacetera advanced with wins over Bill Stout.  The current Table Tennis standings can be seen via the Table Tennis link, below.
