      RASAC Cross Country Titles

In the period from 1977 through 1982, RASAC, coached/managed by Joe Lacetera, won seven national team titles, including a National AAU Four-Mile Relay title in 1979 and six National Cross Country titles.  In 1977, led by Mike Sheely (the individual champ), the RASAC Junior Men's 5K Cross CountryTeam won the club's first national team title in Buffalo, New York - a title they successfully defended in 1978 in North Carolina, with Mike again winning the National individual title.  One year later, Karsten Schulz won the Junior Men's title for the club's third consecutive individual title in that event.
In 1980, the 17-18 Boys XC team won the National Age-Groups, for the club's third National XC team title.  Dan Mangan and Brian Shell ran on this team, and the one that won the Open National title in 1982.
In 1981 the Masters Men won the USA-TFA XC Championship, and in 1982 they came back to win the TAC-NAT XC Championship.  Also in 1982, the club won an open 5K team title for seven national titles in six years.

After a five-year hiatus, the club came back in 1987 to win two more titles, won by the National 17-18 Boys XC team coached by Gene Hoffman, and the National 17-18 Girls XC team coached by Dave Starnes,  for a grand total of nine national team titles.

The 1982 National Cross Country Championships, in Raleigh North Carolina, turned out to be a banner event for the RASAC Cross Country teams.

Led by Ed Geisendaffer and Lynn Davis, the RASAC's Masters Cross Country Team won its second consecutive 40+ National Title in two years, with a convincing 59 to 116 win over the second place Ohio Angels.
Geisendaffer and Davis then came back an hour later to help the sub-masters team to a third pace finish in the 35-39 bracket, in a race won by Wayne Vaughn.

Led by Brian Shell and Dan Mangan, the RASAC Men's Open Team raced to a National Title with a 57-143 margin over second place Baldwinsville, New York.

Paula Gage won the women's open 5K while Marybeth Eikenberg placed 37th in the 15-16 Girl's race, and Angie Parrish  placed 76th in the 13-14 Girls 3000
